Seven Squared; Perfection Doubled. Why 7 is not just my favorite number….

0_0_250_http---offlinehbpl.hbpl.co.uk-news-RB-EC8AA45B-C375-0F3A-A552B3B55B04F42FI have started noticing a series of 7’s in my life- at work, at home and in my marriage. I get the chills even when I think about it. See, 7 is God’s number. It denotes perfection, totality, completion and fullness. It comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to be full,” “to be satisfied,” and “to have enough.

This year marked my 7th year away from Kenya. It also marked my 27th birthday on the 7th day of the week. Aside from that, it happens that I am the 7th child in my family. On May 27th I started my new position at work. In October, it also marks 7 years since I met my husband. Not convinced yet? My naturalization anniversary is also on the 27th day.

I know that most people can be highly skeptical about this. However, for me- I feel that my life is taking a shift. I moving onto the “major leagues”. Hahaha. I truly believe it. In the word of God every number has a meaning and every meaning may have been conveyed in a number. For example, the bible tells us to forgive 70 times 70.

I am not trying to state that our life is configured by numbers and that numbers dictate how your life would be. That is quite the slippery slope as we are to look to Christ. Sometimes people lose sight of God and end up dumping God and looking to numerology.

For me, I feel like the number 7’s in my life are but signs for what I already know. It’s like little reminders of the blessings in Deuteronomy 28. Maybe it’s all in my head; nonetheless, I know my God is an awesome God.

2014 is the year of blessings squared.

MY LORD, ALL GLORY GOES TO YOU!!!
